The University of Pikeville, the Leading University of Central Appalachia, is currently seeking clinical faculty for its Kentucky College of Optometry. Professional clinical educators are sought in the areas of Primary Care, Binocular Vision, and Ocular Disease. Candidates should be passionate and experienced regarding clinical instruction. Through education, training, and mentoring, faculty members will provide students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed at the highest level of professional optometric services. This unique career opportunity affords an individual the opportunity to work and teach in a state of the art eye care facility as well as in fully equipped rural health clinics; while at the same time enjoying the unparalleled beauty and tranquility of the Appalachian mountain region.
The faculty member is expected to provide patient care in the Kentucky College of Optometry Eye Institute programs while accepting the following responsibilities:
Provide health care to patients at the Kentucky College of Optometry Center for Excellence, Pikeville Medical Center and our partner Federally Qualified Health Care centers.
Participating in and recommending clinical curriculum development and evaluation.
Providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed.
Traditional scholarly activity and University service.
Must have an O.D. degree from an ACOE accredited optometry program.
Optometrist applicants should be eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky or possess a current Kentucky license. Expanded therapeutic certification and laser procedure certification preferred but not required.
Must have excellent organizational, communication, teaching and decision-making skills.
Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
