The University of Pikeville (UPIKE), Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO) is currently seeking applicants for a full-time faculty member to teach OPT 726-Clinical Medicine/Management and Co-Management. Candidates must be passionate and experienced in classroom and clinical instruction. Through education, training, and mentoring, faculty members will provide students with the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed at the highest level of professional optometric services. Detect abnormalities in patients through patient history and physical diagnostic procedures, laboratory, radiological testing and/or other assessment techniques are necessary to provide the information necessary to reach a definitive diagnosis.
The Major systemic diseases that have ocular and visual implications and reviews their etiology as discussed in pathology, the patient's signs and symptoms and other clinical assessments in order to not only reach a definitive diagnosis, but also develop effective management plans.
Treatment of systemic diseases that have ocular correlates or implications, management often takes the form of co-management.
Emphasize certain diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, infectious and other conditions prevalent in the general and Appalachian populations.
Course preparation which will include lecture and laboratory presentations as well as student testing and evaluation.
Candidate will also participate in the KYCO clinics providing direct patient care as well as precepting student interns.
Providing tutoring and office hours for students as needed.
Traditional scholarly activity and University service.
Education/Skill Requirements:
KYCO seeks a professional with a minimum Doctor of Optometry Degree (O.D.) and/or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a discipline related to optometry or its associated basic sciences.
Residency training in the appropriate area of Ocular Disease, OR a minimum five years' relevant clinical experience preferred.
Optometrist applicants should be eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky and are expected to participate in patient care services.
Applicants must have excellent organizational, communication, teaching and decision-making skills.
Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
